ABOUT
NewGround is proud to offer our alumni an exclusive conversation with expert in contemporary Muslim identity Haroon Moghul.
Haroon Moghul is the Fellow in Muslim Politics and Societies at the Center on National Security at Fordham Law School.  He writes a weekly column for Al Arabiya English and is a doctoral candidate at Columbia University, focusing on Islamic thought in India.  Previously he was a National Security Studies Fellow at the New America Foundation.  He holds an M.A. from Columbia University in Middle East and South Asia Studies.

Haroon's 2006 novel, The Order of Light (Penguin) anticipated the Arab Spring; a young Egyptian immolates himself and sparks a Middle Eastern revolution.  In 2015, Yale University Press will publish Haroon's journey from atheism to Islam, How To Be Muslim.   He sits on the Multicultural Audience Initiative at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art (Islamic Galleries) and is a Senior Editor and video blogger for Islamic Monthly, and lives in New York City.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. I have to work that day in Long Beach, and I won’t be able to transfer back and forth.
