 NewGround Change-maker Grants Program: Now Accepting Applications!

If you have an inspiring idea, now is the time to transform it into a reality...

NewGround Change-maker Grant awardees in the inaugural year exceeded expectations with their viral success -- spreading the message of hope and change through shared experiential learning and civic engagement.  These initiatives inspired thousands and received widespread media coverage around the country on Upworthy and HuffPost and across the world from Pakistan to Israel. 

Only NewGround alumni and current program participants are eligible to apply.

NewGround’s mission to strengthen Muslim-Jewish partnerships is furthered when alumni capitalize on the relationships they have developed through the fellowship or MAJIC to develop innovative ways for Muslims and Jews to tackle pressing issues in their community and around the world. 

The grant award amount ranges from $250-$1,000.

Eligibility Requirements: You must be a current participant or alumni of one of NewGround's programs. 

Goal: To expand the impact of your experience and the work of NewGround by engaging our broader communities in improving and transforming Los Angeles through the power of Muslim and Jewish relationships.

Criteria:
Current participants and/or alumni of NewGround programming (individually, in pairs, or in groups) will create a project to be considered for funding that fulfills the following criteria: 
1. Engages the broader community in the work of NewGround 
2. Is rooted in NewGround values: partnership, reflection, pluralism and transformation 
3. Applies relationships, skills and experience from the NewGround fellowship 
4. Has measurable and realistic goals 
5. If granted funding, documentation required - record a short (2-minute long) video and provide a short summary of project at the end 

Grant priority areas: civic engagement, policy advocacy, community building.

Tentative Timeline: Important Dates for Change-maker Grant Application, Selection, Implementation and Evaluation

Change-maker Grant Applications Due: Friday, February 26, 2016

Grant Applicant Interviews: Monday, March 7 - Friday, March 11, 2016

Grantee Project Implementation: Project Completed by Tuesday, May 31, 2016

Grantee Project Evaluation Report Due: Friday, June 10, 2016
